Delete your Opisanoja account

Applies to the Opisanoja mobile application (package com.penguincanfly.opisanoja). Last updated: 24 August 2026.

You can delete your Opisanoja account and the data associated with it at any time. An account is optional in Opisanoja — if you have never signed in, no account exists and there is nothing to delete on our side.

How to request deletion

From inside the app — open Settings, go to the Account section, and choose Delete account. Deletion begins immediately.

If you no longer have the app installed — send an email to support@penguincanfly.com with the subject Account deletion, from the email address your account uses. Opisanoja accounts have no password: sending the request from the account's own address is how we confirm it is really you. We action requests within 30 days.

What happens, and when

Immediately	Your account is marked for deletion. Every signed-in device is signed out at once, and any outstanding sign-in codes are destroyed. The account can no longer be used.
For 30 days	A grace period, so an accidental or unauthorised deletion can be undone. Signing in again during this period cancels the deletion and restores your account and data. Requesting deletion again does not extend this window.
After 30 days	Your account and its data are permanently erased from our systems. This cannot be reversed.

What is deleted

• Your account and the email address associated with it
• Vocabulary, phrases, usage examples and tags you synced
• Learning progress, training sessions and review history
• Your learning languages, goals and synced settings
• Registered devices and their sign-in tokens
• Subscription entitlement records held by us
• AI usage allowances associated with your account
• The link between your account and any images you uploaded

What is not deleted

• Data stored only on your device. Opisanoja works offline, and your vocabulary is kept on the device itself. Uninstalling the app removes it. Deleting your account does not erase the copy on a device you still have.
• Backups you created yourself. If you saved a backup to iCloud or Google Drive, it is stored in your own cloud account and is yours to delete.
• Purchase and subscription records held by Apple and Google. Payments are processed by the App Store and Google Play, not by us, and their records are outside our control. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription — cancel it in the App Store or Google Play, otherwise it continues to renew.
• Uploaded image files. Images are stored de-duplicated: identical images are held once and may be referenced by more than one person's content. When your account is erased, everything connecting you to an image is destroyed, but the image file itself may remain in that shared store, no longer associated with you or with any account.
• Security and audit records. A limited record of administrative and security events is retained without any reference to your account, to protect the service against abuse.
• Anonymous analytics. If you consented to analytics, the data collected is aggregate and is never linked to your account or to you personally, so there is nothing account-specific to remove. You can withdraw consent at any time in the app's settings.
